What Happens After You Pass a Prop Firm Evaluation?

The usual steps after passing a futures evaluation — paperwork, activation, the funded rules — and how not to lose the account in week one.

Expect paperwork first

Most firms ask you to sign a trader agreement and verify your identity before the funded account goes live. Have your ID ready so you don't lose days waiting.

Check for an activation or monthly fee

Some plans charge a one-time activation fee after you pass, others don't, and some bill monthly. Know which one you bought — the Directory's no-activation filter shows plans without one.

The rules can change after you pass

Funded accounts often have different drawdown behaviour, contract limits, consistency rules or payout requirements than the evaluation. Re-read the funded rules on your firm's card before your first funded trade.

Trade smaller in week one

A new funded account has no cushion. Start below your evaluation size until you've built a buffer, then size back up.

Log it so you can track payouts

Mark the account as funded in your EVX dashboard and log payouts as they come in. It keeps your records in one place.
